I found data from the 2023 College Board "Trends in College Pricing" report, which offers valuable insights into the rising costs of education and how it impacts students and families. The report includes various charts and graphs that provide a clear view of tuition trends across different types of institutions (public and private as well as regional differences.

Dear Liang ,

Thank you for sharing this helpful data. The analysis of the global Internet penetration chart is clear and highlights the difference in Internet access between regions. The graph comparison really highlights the disparity in Internet access, which can have significant social and economic consequences.  It shows how the digital gap affects both developed and developing areas.

Hi Vincent,

Your analysis of the boxplot for projected earnings by college majors is clear and helpful information. I agree that the use of a boxplot is informative and effective.  The graph clearly shows the distribution of earnings within each major and it's highlighting both median salaries and the 90th percentile for top earners. The visualization clearly shows the range of earnings within each major, making it easier for students to understand. By comparing the differences which is helpful to make better decisions for our academic paths. Thanks for sharing valuable information.

Example Data Visualization:

One of the most striking visuals from the report is a line chart comparing the average published tuition and fees from 1993-94 to 2023-24 for public and private institutions. This chart shows how tuition prices have steadily increased over the past 30 years, with private nonprofit four-year institutions showing the highest rise, reaching an average of $41,540 in 2023.

Analysis of the Visualization:

  • Clarity: The line chart makes it easy to track the upward trend over time, with clear distinctions between public and private institutions.
  • Emphasis: The inflation-adjusted data shows how tuition prices have far outpaced inflation, making the rising cost of education starkly evident.
  • Engagement: The combination of historical and current data helps viewers see long-term trends, making it clear that the cost of higher education has been steadily rising, contributing to the student debt crisis.

This data would be excellent to use for your post, especially since the visual presentation effectively highlights the increasing burden of tuition fees over time. Would you like further help breaking down this information or preparing your discussion post?
