TheTestCamp.com/DeAnza - Learn and practice fundamental test skills. Gain test-taking confidence. Start Here. Select Students. Try this training application and provide feedback in the Test Skills Training discussion. Consider the site from the perspective of 1. the "student" learner, and 2. as a web site evaluator - ease of use, navigation, clarity of information, accessibility. Include 1-2 sentences about each overall assessment.
If you have friends or family that are required to take tests from time to time, they are welcome to work through the course to strengthen their test taking skills.
I’m glad I found this useful information and link while learning this CIS class! The Test Camp website is a valuable resource that supports students’ educational needs. It is user-friendly and free for De Anza College students to create an account, costing $0 to access. Once registered, you can enjoy a full year of access from the purchase date. I really like this resource and think it’s a great tool for all the students to upgrade and improve their skills.
The training application meets educational needs and provides a user-friendly experience for a student/learner. As a website evaluator, the site’s design and structure enhance its usability and overall effectiveness in delivering educational content.
As a student seeking additional assistance in exam strategy, I am happy to try this website. After entering, I was immediately prompted to register for a "free" subscription. However, this process is quite strange as it requires me to add the free pass to my shopping cart and provide personal information before I can access any content. This feels unnecessary and sends me a warning signal.
When I browsed the subscription page, I found that the website's design was outdated and difficult to navigate. Clicking on the school logo will only refresh the page, and many links will cause a black screen. I have no confidence in the legitimacy of this website, so I have decided not to continue. It looks poorly made and may not be trustworthy.
Broken link. Leads to a website that is no longer available, with a curious banner at the top that shows a cart and balance. Do I have to purchase something to utilize the test service? Home page immediately offers a register to win sweepstakes, with no purchase necessary - at which point I closed the website, I've seen enough.
"Student Learner"
I quickly closed the site as I pressed the link that led to the test practice. The site requires you to purchase a "free" subscription to use it, which I find odd. For something that is free, you should be able to access their webpage.
"WebDev"
The site is extremely dysfunctional. Most functions do not work. For instance, pressing the DeAnza logo button leads you to a black screen with the school name in the middle. Secondly, the format and structure of the webpage seem lackluster, boring, and outdated.
"Student Learner"
This site provides training and skills for test taking but I found it to be hard to use because it didn't seem like it was what it was. Feels outdated and possible fake. Why do you have to add a pass to the cart that is free? Just to give personal information? I did not provide my information. I stopped right there and felt that I have spent enough time with this site.
"Website Evaluator"
The site feels old and maybe made by a first timer. It's not easy to navigate, some things do not make since, one thing leads to another that does not lead to anything. Wanting personal information right off the bat seems sketchy and without reason and what they plan to do with your personal information. Instant reaction to this site is that it is not credible nor trustworthy.
Student Perspective:
While the site provides training for test-taking skills, the outdated user interface raises concerns about usability and credibility. I was interested in trying the free pass, but the focus on paid services and the overall look made me hesitate, especially since I was worried about providing personal information like my email or address.
Website Evaluation:
The interface feels old school and not user-friendly, making it difficult to find free resources easily. It leans heavily on promoting paid services, and the lack of modern design elements can make it appear less trustworthy. Improving navigation and transparency around data use would enhance both usability and trust. The website also needs better accessibility features for those with disabilities, like screen reader support and adjustable text sizes.
