Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE

  1. Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE / Connecting - In the Web Literacy framework description, review the skills in the Connecting group. What skills don't you have yet or need to work on? Look it up. In the Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE discussion, post a link to a resource that improved your understanding and skills in these areas.
I realized that I need to enhance my skills in Open Practices, particularly in understanding and applying open licenses to my work. The British Council’s article on web literacy skills explains the importance of navigating the online world. It emphasizes critical thinking when evaluating online information. The article also highlights the need for ethical and responsible participation in digital spaces. Finally, it encourages lifelong learning by adapting to new technologies and improving web literacy skills.

To improve in this area, I found the Creative Commons website to be an invaluable resource. It offers comprehensive information on open licensing, including guides on how to apply Creative Commons licenses to various types of content. This resource has significantly deepened my understanding of open practices and how to implement them effectively.

By utilizing such resources, I am better equipped to contribute to a more open and accessible web.
