I recognize how much location-based technology has transformed the way I navigate my daily life, from mapping apps like Google Maps to services like Uber and food delivery apps, location-based technologies make everything more convenient. Apps like Yelp use this information to show me the best-rated businesses nearby, while weather apps provide hyper-local forecasts. Another great example is Uber which uses location-based services to match me with the nearest driver, track the car’s arrival in real-time.
Enterprise: Enterprise is well known for having a large network of rental locations, including neighborhood branches and airport offices, making it easy for both local and international customers to find a convenient spot. To rent a car or find nearby locations, customers can simply search online and access their location services.

I found a public toilet tracking app, that appears to be run by the Australian government. What a nice service to provide to your people!

Uber is an example of location-based service. Uber app can provide two ways like driver and user. The driver can see the user location and the user can see too.
Most delivery services(Amazon, DoorDash, etc) require your location. Although you don't need to allow them to access your location at all times and can simply give them your location manually, most allow these services to access their location at all times just for convenience.
I found Nextdoor, a platform that connects neighbors by providing location-specific news, recommendations, and services. It helps people find nearby events, local businesses, and even community discussions based on your neighborhood.
A great website for location-specific information is the app Nextdoor, which connects people within their local neighborhoods. It offers a platform where users can share community news, recommendations, local events, safety updates, and even items for sale.

Uses real time location to see what's your local broadcast. For example if you want to watch the Raiders game but you don't live in the area you can't watch it. It's an easy fix thought just turn on a VPN saying you're in Vegas ;)

Eventbrite helps you find local events based on where you are. By using your location, you can see concerts, festivals, and classes happening nearby. I think that this is a great way to get in touch more with your community.
Many different aspects of location-based services are often overlooked. One of which, I tend to look past, is the weather app for apple and android. The app for apple utilizes your location to provide real-time, up-to-date weather forecast along with hourly trends and 7-10 day forecast. The amazing feature of this feature is how it updates as you relocate between towns, cities, states, etc.

Location-based services work by locating where one person is by using the location of a base transceiver station or GPS satellites that are built into smartphones and displaying advertisements depending on your area.
Topic: Location-based information and services
One often-overlooked app that provides location-based services is the weather app. We don’t typically think about the data it needs to function. It’s constantly checking your location to give you live weather updates. I’ve recently found it particularly useful given the heat wave we’ve been experiencing here in California—during the winter!

Many apps and websites use location-based services to send promotions, encouraging you to visit their store or restaurant. One such app I will choose Yelp applications and websites, which provides users with personalized recommendations for local businesses, including restaurants, shops, and services. No matter where you are, you can easily browse for a good restaurant, business service, or hotel, making it convenient to find information and navigate using the map feature. Yelp helps users explore local hotspots, read customer reviews, and find the best places in their area. Retailers can also use the platform to attract nearby customers by offering special promotions and deals, making this location-specific information valuable for making informed decisions in the community.

DoorDash Food Delivery & Takeout - From Restaurants Near You
There are a lot of applications and websites that use location-based services to send you promotions regularly to tempt you to come to their store or restaurant. One application that popped into my mind when I first thought about it is DoorDash, they regularly send me notifications on my phone about local restaurants near me that either have a deal for me if I order through DoorDash or if I order from said restaurant DoorDash will provide me with a promotion such as free delivery. They utilize my location to pinpoint nearby restaurants that use Doordash and show me the closes places as well as when I do order from a restaurant, they allow me to see my Delivery driver go to the restaurant and where they are when they are driving to my location.
