This could include anything from education and work to wearable computers. Find one that you think is particularly interesting about the social issues discussed and why these are important. What do you expect will result from the interactions between technology and society? Will it be good or bad? Post the link to the resource selected and your analysis in the Future of Technology and Society discussion topic.

Review and comment on 3 others.
What questions does this raise?
Provide another viewpoint or add additional information.
Your responses should be 2-3 sentences.
How has this expanded your understanding of the topic?

The article from Stanford Engineering talks about how educational technology can change learning. Tools like AI and virtual classrooms can make education more personalized and available to more people. But not everyone has the same access to technology, which can cause problems.

How can we close the gap for students who don’t have access to technology?
What steps can schools and governments take to ensure fair access?

The article from MIT Open Learning talks about how new technologies are changing education. Tools like AI, virtual reality, and online learning make studying easier and more fun.

How can we ensure everyone has access to these advanced tools?

What measures can protect student privacy while using technology?

The article from MIT Open Learning explains how advanced technologies are changing education. Tools like AI, virtual reality, and online platforms make learning more interactive and accessible. These technologies can help students understand difficult topics and provide education to people around the world.

However, not everyone has access to these tools, which can create gaps in education. There are also concerns about privacy and how much we rely on technology. Overall, these advancements can make education better if we solve the challenges and use them responsibly.

Technology Advances, Social Trends- I have questions

  1. Before you start the reading and the assignments, take a few minutes to think about what you already know about the topic - Technology Advances, Social Trends . What don't you know? What questions do you have? Write a sentence or two about this in the I have questions... discussion.
I know that advances in technology can change social trends, how we communicate, learn, education, work, and enjoy entertainment. But I don’t understand how these changes are different in other cultures and communities.

(1) I also wonder how technology affects mental health example procrastination.

(2) I am wondering about how we can balance progress with being ethical and responsible.

I already know that advances technology can influence social trends by shaping communication, education, work, and entertainment. However, I don't fully understand how these trends vary across different cultures and communities or how they affect privacy and mental health. I’m curious about how technology can balance progress with ethical and social responsibilities.

Social innovation - Find another video or online resource about "social innovation". What is the social issue discussed? How is this innovative? What are questions and ideas being shared? What are 2-3 questions that are asked or answered in your selection? Include a link to your selection and brief summary to the Social Innovation discussion.

How is this relevant to how you see society changing? How can you contribute personally? Post replies to 2 other posts with a brief comments in response to their questions.

Readability and text display - In the beginning, the web user had complete control over how text was displayed. This has been largely replaced by the developer deciding what is "best". However, new research shows that readability and comprehension can be impacted by these choices. See for yourself. Access the ReadabilityMatters.org Sandbox and adjust the sliders to change the text display. Think about what you read and what settings would be better (or worse) for each. Phone, tablet, laptop, desktop? Academic papers, books for pleasure, searching for specific information within text? How about on standardized tests, assignment instructions or even math problem descriptions? Could text display make a difference to you? Post you observations in the Readability demo discussion.

https://readabilitymatters.org/readabilitysandbox/

After exploring the Readability Matters Sandbox, helped me understand how text display impacts readability and comprehension. I learned that font size and spacing affect readability a lot.  Changing the text display can make a big difference in how we read and process information.
Customization could be especially helpful for accessibility and learning environments, ensuring that individual preferences are met.

Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE

  1. Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE / Connecting - In the Web Literacy framework description, review the skills in the Connecting group. What skills don't you have yet or need to work on? Look it up. In the Web Literacy - PARTICIPATE discussion, post a link to a resource that improved your understanding and skills in these areas.
I realized that I need to enhance my skills in Open Practices, particularly in understanding and applying open licenses to my work. The British Council’s article on web literacy skills explains the importance of navigating the online world. It emphasizes critical thinking when evaluating online information. The article also highlights the need for ethical and responsible participation in digital spaces. Finally, it encourages lifelong learning by adapting to new technologies and improving web literacy skills.

To improve in this area, I found the Creative Commons website to be an invaluable resource. It offers comprehensive information on open licensing, including guides on how to apply Creative Commons licenses to various types of content. This resource has significantly deepened my understanding of open practices and how to implement them effectively.

By utilizing such resources, I am better equipped to contribute to a more open and accessible web.

I took this photo at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. It captures a joyful moment with dogs full of energy. They run freely on the beach, chasing and playing with a ball. The dogs play together, spreading pure happiness. Their joy is simple and beautiful, showing how wonderful life can be. Watching them brings happiness to your heart too.

WebXR - Virtual/Augmented Reality

  1. WebXR - Virtual/Augmented Reality - Although it would be nice to have a special viewer, you can still see the videos in a regular browser from your computer or phone. You won't get the full effect, but you will get the idea. Access the WITHIN site and explore. WebXR is an open specification that makes it possible to experience WebXR - VR (Virtual Reality)/ AR (Augmented Reality) in your browser. The goal is to make it easier for everyone to get into WebXR experiences. You won’t be able to see in 3D or interact as fully in most example experiences, but you can still look around in 360 degrees. View several of the experiences. Select one and post a link and short summary of your experience. How was this different from a regular video? Have you ever used a VR viewer? Is WebXR going to change how we experience audio and visual content? Post your reply to the WebXR Experience discussion
I could not able to access https://vr.with.in/.
I found the video "Build immersive web experiences with WebXR"
The WWDC24 session "Build immersive web experiences with WebXR" helps developers create VR experiences for visionOS. It explains WebXR's role in enabling immersive content and highlights the need for HTTPS for security. The session covers integrating WebXR into websites, including using hand gestures and eye tracking. Developers can also use the visionOS Simulator for testing without physical hardware.

“What if...a text phone was a school?”

The UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all by 2030.
